Perianesthesia Potpourri
This review is designed to provide the RN and other health care professionals current information on pathologies, therapies, techniques and standards which contribute to safe, quality, patient care in the perianesthesia setting.
CLASS OBJECTIVES
The participant will be able to:
- Describe new techniques for screening, treatment and reconstruction in breast cancer
- Describe incidence, pathology and treatment for various types of hernias
- Describe the care of patients receiving brachytherapy for intraocular tumors
- Identify the differences between a tracheotomy stoma, a laryngectomy stoma, and the various tubes used for each stoma
- Apply strategies that focus on “life balance” creating resiliency behaviors for the perianesthesia care arena
